Description of Work

Information and Infrastructure Technologies, Inc. (IIT)/ROGERCO, Inc. (roger) is looking for a skilled Communications Planner to join our team supporting the Army Futures Command (AFC). This individual will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the full spectrum of communications. Candidate supports Communication Planning, Communication Execution and Products, Communication Research, and Communication Evaluation and Assessment.

What You’ll Do:

– Develop communication recommendations that integrate the points of view of Futures Command into the communication plans and products in support of the engagement line of effort

– Conduct, develop, and perform comprehensive planning for supporting communication outreach and the communication planning component of all AFC strategic planning venues and products

– Support the planning and development of strategic-level outreach engagements, events, partnerships, and coordination with the appropriate support offices

– Support communication campaign plans, assessment data gathering, outreach activities, events, exhibits, conferences, and related support mechanisms, and produce communication and media products to support the execution of communication campaign plans

– Supports the coordination with subordinate commands to ensure community outreach and engagement activities at their level synchronize in messaging and efforts with the Headquarters

– Provide senior-level planning support for enduring communication operational planning.  Support includes but is not limited to: coordination and drafting of plans from concept through execution, adjustments as necessary and plan transitioning to media relations for execution.  Enduring plans are priorities which are defined as communication requirements that are generally ongoing and re-occurring

– Provide senior-level planning support for emerging communication plans. Support includes but is not limited to coordination and writing of draft plans, writing talking points, develop read-ahead packages, monitoring execution as well as making adjustments as necessary. This also includes assessing the effects of the communication effort. Emerging plans include those requirements that fill short term information requirements such as: Transformation efforts, national commemorations and industry/ academia partnerships and industry days

– Provide project level communication support such as point papers, executive summaries, supporting material, position papers, written communication, meeting conference reports, overview briefings, including objectives, strategy, analysis, evaluation, recommendations, scheduling information, risks, structure, and contacts to key internal and external audiences describing current actions and or activities and upcoming phases of any initiatives

– Communicate through journalistic writing, copy writing/editing and screenwriting.

– Prepare and/or edit written correspondence, ensuring proper use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation

– Skilled in strategic engagement to work on a team supporting various Army communication campaigns and programs

– Plan for and support activities and events (engagements, conferences, etc.), supporting both traditional and non-traditional media, development and use of exhibits and collateral materials (banner stands, posters, brochures, etc.

– This position may require the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station

Qualifications & Experience

Location: Austin, TX (This is an in-person position)

Education: BA/BS from an accredited college or university with degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Creative Writing or similar discipline

Experience: Minimum of 5 years direct, relevant experience in Communication Planning, Communication Execution, and Communication Research to support the planning and development of communication plans and products

Languages: English

Must be a US Citizen 

Active DoD Clearance required 

Must possess sufficient knowledge of communication principles, methods, practices, and techniques to develop public affairs projects providing information to enhance and support the AFC mission

Must have sufficient experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, communication outreach and planning, to include event coordination, speechwriting; and a knowledge of branding, media relations and social media to meet performance standards and objectives
